We regret to announce that the Royal Splashfest will not be taking place this year. However, on Friday August 30, we will be holding the Hoo Kuku Lanalana - A Rigging Clinic and Challenge in its place.

Lashing awa correctly is critical to its seaworthiness. The patterns of Hawaiian waa lashing can be highly functional as well as aesthetically beautiful. Come toour hands-on clinic, and see if your lashing crew of four can wield the aho(rigging line) into a seaworthy pattern. Awards given to the crews thatcomplete a lashing that is strong, beautiful and quickly achieved.

In order to have the races run as smoothly as possible, we ask that all registrations be made online before Thursday, August 29. LATE FEES WILL BE ASSESSED FOR ALL RACES (other than OC1, V1, OC2 and SUP) IF YOU WAIT AND ENTER IN PERSON AFTER WEDNESDAY. Please dont wait to register and pay for your crews at registration check-in. You will accrue late fees for non-individual races and experience a delay as we have limited computers to utilize for new entries.

Finally, we ask that people who have signed up for the double hull events on Sunday, and who are not using their own canoes, check in with Cheryl Villegas at some point before Friday, Aug 30.
